Who we are

TasteTwins is a Google Chrome extension available at tastetwins.net. The extension helps Bandcamp users discover other fans who have the most records in common with them.

What data the extension collects

None. The TasteTwins Chrome extension (including the Free plan) does not collect any personal data. It does not collect:

• Names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information
• Bandcamp usernames or account details
• Browsing history or page visit data
• Location data
• Financial or payment information
• Authentication credentials
• Any usage analytics or behavioural data

What data we collect for Power subscribers

If you subscribe to the Power plan, your email address is collected during checkout via Stripe. This email is passed to Keygen, our license management service, which sends you a license key to activate your subscription. TasteTwins is CC'd on this license key email, which means we do have access to your email address.

Your email may be used for subscription-related communications such as receipts, renewal notices, or support. We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties.

How the extension works

TasteTwins reads publicly visible supporter and fan data from Bandcamp album pages you actively navigate to. It uses this data — which is already visible on Bandcamp's own website — to calculate overlap scores between your collection and other fans' collections.

All of this processing happens locally on your device. The extension communicates only with bandcamp.com directly. No data is sent to TasteTwins servers, third-party analytics services, or any other external destination.

Local storage

TasteTwins uses chrome.storage.local to save your leaderboard and temporarily cache fan data (for up to 1 hour) between browser sessions. This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is never synced to any external server
• Can be cleared at any time by removing the extension or clearing Chrome's local storage

Third-party services

Stripe processes all subscription payments for Power plan users. Stripe collects your email address and payment details (such as your card number) during checkout. TasteTwins does not handle, store, or have access to your raw payment information.

Keygen manages license key generation and delivery. Your email address is passed from Stripe to Keygen to send you your license key. TasteTwins is CC'd on this email.

The extension itself does not communicate with Stripe or Keygen — it only validates your license key locally.

Data sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share any user data with third parties. The only personal data we have access to is the email address of Power plan subscribers, and it is never shared beyond what is described in this policy.

Children's privacy

TasteTwins is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
